0001 ========================= 0002 Pology Rules for Galician 0003 ========================= 0004 0005 Usage 0006 ===== 0007 0008 To check one or more PO files against the Pology rules for Galician: 0009 0010 #. Install Pology following the instructions on the first sections of the 0011 `Pology documentation`_. 0012 0013 #. Run posieve_ with the `check-rules`_ sieve and ``-s lang:gl``, followed by 0014 the paths of target files and folders. 0015 0016 It is also recommended to use a regular expression 0017 (``-s rulerx:<regular expression>``) or multiple rule IDs 0018 (``-s rule:<rule ID>``) to restrict rules to those in the ``rag.rules`` and 0019 ``trasno.rules`` files (e.g. ``-s rulerx:^((no)?PT|rag)``), which contains 0020 rules that enforce the terminology criteria based on resources from 0021 `Real Academia Galega`_, the official language authority, or published_ by 0022 `Proxecto Trasno`_ as approved during their annual gatherings. 0023 0024 These are some other useful parameters to consider: 0025 0026 - ``--skip-obsolete`` skips obsolete messages, messages that used to be 0027 part of the translations, and are kept in PO files in case they are 0028 used in the translations again in the future. 0029 0030 - ``-s lokalize`` opens affected messages in Lokalize. 0031 0032 If a specific message violates a rule but the message should be left as is, and 0033 it makes no sense to update the rule because the message is a rare exception, 0034 you may add ``skip-rule: <rule ID>`` as a translator comment to the message to 0035 let that message skip the ofending rule. Multiple rule IDs may be specified 0036 separated by commas. 0037 0038 .. _check-rules: http://pology.nedohodnik.net/doc/user/en_US/ch-sieve.html#sv-check-rules 0039 .. _Pology documentation: http://pology.nedohodnik.net/doc/user/en_US/ch-about.html 0040 .. _posieve: http://pology.nedohodnik.net/doc/user/en_US/ch-sieve.html 0041 .. _published: http://termos.trasno.gal/ 0042 .. _Real Academia Galega: https://academia.gal 0043 0044 Rule Names 0045 ---------- 0046 0047 Rule IDs follow this pattern:: 0048 0049 <family>_<term> 0050 0051 These are some examples of rule IDs:: 0052 0053 rag-online 0054 PT-2010_tab 0055 clGL-modling_bel 0056 clGL-all_colar 0057 expression_error while 0058 kde-dual_print 0059 kde_print 0060 0061 The following families exist: 0062 0063 - ``aaPT`` 0064 0065 Rules for agreements that have been published by `Proxecto Trasno`_ as 0066 agreements taken before the start of their annual gatherings where 0067 terminology agreements are usually reached. 0068 0069 - ``clGL`` 0070 0071 Rules to normalize the language model used in translations beyond the 0072 agreements reached by `Proxecto Trasno`_. 0073 0074 These rules only check the Galician text (``msgstr``). 0075 0076 - ``clGL-modling`` 0077 0078 Rules that affect the language model (e.g. endings, contractions, 0079 chosen variants). 0080 0081 - ``clGL-all`` 0082 0083 Other normalization rules, usually word choices. 0084 0085 - ``expression`` 0086 0087 Rules for common expressions or phrases. 0088 0089 .. note:: In some cases, this family ID includes a suffix that indicates 0090 the project where the rule is applied. 0091 0092 - ``gnome`` 0093 0094 Rules specific to GNOME translations. 0095 0096 - ``kde`` 0097 0098 Rules specific to KDE translations. 0099 0100 - ``PT-<year>``, ``noPT`` 0101 0102 Rules based on terminology agreements reached by `Proxecto Trasno`_ during 0103 one of their annual sprints. 0104 0105 - ``PT-<year>-gl`` 0106 0107 Rules that affect the language model. 0108 0109 These rules only check the Galician text (``msgstr``). 0110 0111 - ``rag`` 0112 0113 Rules based on resources from `Real Academia Galega`_. 0114 0115 Families may include a ``-dual`` suffix that indicates that the rule is a 0116 Galician-to-English counterpart to an English-to-Galician rule. 0117 0118 0119 Environments 0120 ------------ 0121 0122 Rules support the following environments:: 0123 0124 bittorrent 0125 cypher 0126 database 0127 development 0128 geography 0129 graph_theory 0130 informal 0131 0132 0133 Development 0134 =========== 0135 0136 Files 0137 ----- 0138 0139 Rules are distributed accross the following files: 0140 0141 - ``antigas.rules`` 0142 0143 Terminology choices published by `Proxecto Trasno`_ but not approved during 0144 their annual gatherings, instead coming from their old glossary. 0145 0146 - ``outras.rules`` 0147 0148 Terminology choices that do not fit any other file. 0149 0150 - ``rag.rules`` 0151 0152 Terminology choices based on resources from `Real Academia Galega`_. 0153 0154 - ``trasno.rules`` 0155 0156 Rules that are the result of agreements by `Proxecto Trasno`_. 0157 0158 0159 Credits and License 0160 =================== 0161 0162 © 2011-2012 Proxecto Trasno. 0163 © 2019 Adrián Chaves (Gallaecio) <adrian@chaves.io>. 0164 All rights reserved. 0165 0166 Redistribution and use in source (SGML DocBook or plain text) and 'compiled' 0167 forms (SGML, HTML, PDF, PostScript, RTF and so forth) with or without 0168 modification, are permitted provided that the following conditions are met: 0169 0170 - Redistributions of source code (SGML DocBook or plain text) must retain the 0171 above copyright notice, this list of conditions and the following 0172 disclaimer as the first lines of this file unmodified. 0173 0174 - Redistributions in compiled form (transformed to other DTDs, converted to 0175 PDF, PostScript, RTF and other formats) must reproduce the above copyright 0176 notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer in the 0177 documentation and/or other materials provided with the distribution. 0178 0179 THIS DOCUMENTATION IS PROVIDED BY THE PROXECTO TRASNO "AS IS" AND ANY EXPRESS 0180 OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF 0181 MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE DISCLAIMED.
