0001 # Introduction 0002 0003 Kexi is a visual database applications builder. It can be used for designing 0004 database applications, inserting and editing data, performing queries, 0005 and processing data. Forms can be created to provide a custom interface 0006 to your data. All database objects – tables, queries, forms, reports 0007 – are stored in the database, making it easy to share data and design. 0008 0009 Kexi is Free/Libre/Open-Source Software, developed within the KDE and 0010 Calligra Suite projects. It is designed to be fully usable both on Linux/Unix 0011 and MS Windows platforms. 0012 0013 Kexi is considered as a long awaited Open Source competitor for Microsoft 0014 Access, FileMaker and Oracle Forms. Its development is motivated by the 0015 lack of Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools for database systems that 0016 are sufficiently powerful, inexpensive, open standards driven and portable 0017 across many operating systems and hardware platforms. 0018 0019 *If you are reading this on GitHub, be aware that this is just a mirror. 0020 Our real code repository [is located here](https://invent.kde.org/office/kexi).* 0021 0022 # Links 0023 0024 - Kexi Project home page: http://kexi-project.org 0025 - Development wiki: https://community.kde.org/Kexi 0026 - All contact options: https://community.kde.org/Kexi/Contact 0027 - Geting started with contributions: https://community.kde.org/Kexi/Getting_Started 0028 - Kexi within the Calligra Suite: https://www.calligra.org/kexi 0029 0030 # Donate Money 0031 0032 If you love KEXI, you can help developers to build new incredible features or enhance new ones.
